In addition to providing an introduction to the history of theatre, Drama lessons at Bideford College make a vital contribution to students’ social, moral and cultural education, as well as developing the skills of communication, teamwork and creative problem solving.
These not only help to prepare students for life beyond secondary school but can also transfer to other areas of the curriculum. Through drama students are also able to explore issues and problems that help them to understand themselves and those around them.
Drama is taught throughout the College. All year 7, 8, & 9 students are taught Drama each week and students can opt for a GCSE Drama course at KS4 and AS & A2 Drama & Theatre Studies in the Sixth Form.
